As a service to our Community the InfraGard Albany Chapter is hosting an Educational Seminar covering the critical topic of Incident Response Planning and Practice. This session will be of benefit to all audiences, technical and non technical, leadership or practioners.

340,000 cyber related complaints are reported to the FBI annually with victims porting losses of $3.5 Billion in 2019 alone.

This educational session will help you plan for and understand how to respond to Cyber Incidents:

Hear how subject matter experts across the public sector, private sector and FBI prepare for, identify and contain computer intrusions every day. Listen as they discuss their top considerations when creating a solid response plan. Have an opportunity to ask for their per spective. With your attendance you’ll receive documents and an InfraGard Incident Response training certificate of attendance.

Speakers and Panelists:
Roderick Link has over 7 years of experience working as FBI Albany’s Computer Scientist. In that time he has served as the division’s primary subject matter expert on digital forensics, cryptanalysis, network, memory and malware analysis in support of over 500 FBI operations including more than 40 computer intrusions. He is also a member of the FBI’s Cyber Action Team (CAT), a team that’s responsible for providing rapid incident response to the most criti cal attacks under FBI investigation. His recent deployments include combating the 2020 Sun Burst backdoor at US federal agencies and tracking and containing attackers accessing Super

Ed Golden currently serves as a director of information security services and chief infor mation security officer. Mr Golden is a retired Army Intelligence Officer and former defense contractor for Northrop Grumman Corporation. He has over 34 years of experience sup porting military and Department of Defense operations. He has served as both a Project Man ager and Cyber Operations Center Manager supporting US Army Cyber Command. His Profes sional Certifications include: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cer tified Information Security Manager (CISM), Project Management Professional (PMP). Mr. Golden holds an MA – International Relations – Troy State University and a BA – Political Sci ence – University of Maryland University College

Karen Sorady is the NYS Chief Information Security Officer at the Office of Information Technology Services. She has worked in NYS government for more than 30 years, serving for the past 15 years in the State’s central cyber security office. Her office is charged with providing for the protection of the state government’s cyber security infrastructure, including, but not limited to, the identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities, deterring and responding to cyber events, and promoting cyber security awareness within the state.

Ms. Sorady holds a Master of Business Administration from the University at Albany and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York at Oneonta. She holds certifications as an Information Systems Security Professional

Rob Zeglen, NYSTEC’s Information Security Practice Leader, is an information security consult ant with more than 22 years of experience in information technology. He has a broad range of experience in information security and associated technologies that include leading the de velopment and execution of key risk-mitigating activities, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing projects. He has advised clients on HIPAA compliance and incorporation of security controls across various program areas, assessed existing Disaster Recovery readiness at sever al locations throughout NYC, performed a HIPAA Security Risk Assessment of central opera tions and organization in Albany, and led the RFI Review for Regional Health Information Ex change Organizations (RHIOs) Authentication. He has extensive experience in the private sec tor, having worked at Netscape, Sun Microsystems, GE Global Research, and Knolls Atomic Power Lab. Rob holds an undergraduate and MS degree in Computer Science and is is both a certified information security systems professional (CISSP) and HITRUST CSF practitioner.
